I was born and raised in Australia, but carry 1/8 th Maori blood .And in my late 30’s, find my self dis connected from the evangelical church movement that I was also born and raised in ....... it no longer felt real for me anymore.... I felt completely dis connected by this white , European, middle class gospel ...... which today in Australia seems to be uniquely American .......We sing American songs, we worship American ministries ....... as mean while , we completely ignore our rich indigenous tapestry as a Nation ........This hardened my wife and my hearts , and we have been out of the movement now for 2 years ....... we can no longer play along to this confusing and non organic world view ........And just trusted that this was a part of our journey.........1 Month ago, I begun to wander and want to explore my whakapapa, my Maori blood ....... in a search for the missing pieces of my identity........And from out of no where ...... I stumble across Huia come home !!!Man am I grateful for this book .......It has answered so many questions......It has helped me understand our dis connect with today’s church .......I know now more than ever that I am Maori ...... my heart is Maori, and my spirit which is crying out for the Real Gospel to stand up ..... has been introduced to a new world view on this amazing story about Jesus ...... the Maori world view , a pure and organic interpretation of the gospel...... that is way more relevant to me than the euro / American version that has been paraded as “ the only version “ of the true gospel ......Not anymore.......Don’t sit back people , and just accept everything you are told and even taught as the “ only†way or perspective....... have the courage to question, and search and explore your right fit in this narrative and life on this planet .......Please read this book , and I pray it opens up your eyes, mind and heart as it did mineJosh
