the main caracter of the plot starts out defying his teachers/leaders. then he listens to the oracle of the Elven realm, defying the instructions of his mother and father to stay within the realm.He travel to help the god Dimm overcoming many obstacles along the was, he finds out he is not half human as he was lead to believe, but was a descendant of a older more powerful form of life. many battles ensue and many deaths happen, the final battle has a surprise ending that leaves you wondering what is going to happen in the next issue, there is no predicting the many stages of the plot. very good and I am wanting to read the next book of the series.
Get ready for an adventure--this one just blew me away! The style of the writing reminded me of the Warcraft books, particularly Richard A. Knaak (one of my favorite fantasy authors). I love that he brings back Valrin, even though he is not the main character in this one. But I might even like Kealin better! I loved the imagery surrounding Vankou--that scene was probably my favorite! The story of the elves is just unfolding with so many mysteries and unknowns... I am anxious to read the next book!If you like Richard Knaak, Brandon Sanderson, Patrick Rothfuss, and Jeff Wheeler, you're going to love this adventure!
This book has such in-depth character by the time you finish the book you feel like you know the characters but you feel like you are still learning about them at the same time. The action and attention to detail is what readers strive to find in any great story but at times are left disappointed this book will not leave you disappointed in any manner except when you reach the end you will have to wait for the next installment of this Adventure. You will not be disappointed in the investment of this of time and money you spend reading this book.
Very well Done,the story kept my attention,the characters are nicely developed and the overall story is well done in depth of detail and I will be reading the next one as soon I can get it
First book in a different series by J.T. Williams. I found myself drawn into this book and actually felt a part of the proceedings. Elf books are not normally my thing but this on captivated me with its plot, characters and style of writing. Definitely recommended!!
I went into this not knowing what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised! Not only is this a tale of epic proportions, but this is a storyline not to miss! From epic sword batttles to flying armor what's not to like?
This was a painful read. As a reader I want to be transported into the writers world. I want to be fully immersed in the experience. Instead, this read as a 3rd person historical narrative. The characters were not developed. There was no complexity and nuance. I'm not going to buy any further books.
Enjoyed the story line of the siblings who went on a quest together. The way the characters as siblings were acting with their disagreements was typical. This is a rather fast paced tale.
