I had great plans for this book--I teach high school English, so I thought this would be a great visual aid for students as we read various classics. The pictures and print are very tiny, the colors are rather muted, and it's simply difficult to read through the maps. If it were printed on different paper with more vivid colors and a different font, I think this could be really cool.And this is weird, but my copy of the book has a REALLY stiff spine. Most of the maps go across the two pages, and because of the stiff spine, it's almost impossible to really look at the middle part of the maps.So, all in all, great idea; poor execution.

Unfortunately Kindle edition of this book has a bug (at least on iPad). The text pages are overlapped and only half of pictures is available. Somehow it fails to show the right part of the picture (throughout the whole book).

First off...need the next book like yesterday!! I love this story. Also love the old movie add on. Brilliant.This could be now. Our planet turning against us. Disaster after disaster. The solution, use a wormhole and find a new planet to send some of humanity. Brilliant idea, right? Ummm, maybe not. That’s all I can say about it.The characters are wonderfully written. I am a fan of post apocalyptic science fiction and have read several of Drugas books. This I read in a single sitting. My only regret is that the secquel is not yet available. It was a fun read.

Another Great read from Jacqueline Drugs and a most promising start to a new series! The world is undergoing violent upheavals, one natural disaster after another. A slim chance, a slim hope exists through a wormhole in space, maybe. Can't wait for the next book!

You can be pretty sure you're getting a good read with any Jacqueline Druga book and this one is no exception. I just wish the rest of the series was available now.

The expectation was one of exploring a new planet and that did not disappoint. The surprise in this story gave me a plethora of thoughts that I previous had not considered. Good job!

This book follows a group of individuals who have suffered great personal losses from the disasters impacting earth - floods, sinkholes, earthquakes and more. We come to find out they have been chosen for their unique skills...and because they have limited links left to earth. In an effort to save humanity, they will be on a search through a wormhole for a new planet to call home. This book is interesting, suspenseful and heart wrenching. As I've come to expect from the author, the characters are described so well I feel I know them all. This is a great read and a keeper!

Always enjoy Druga's books! Characters in this book seem more mature and grounded than her usual characters. I'd love to read a sequel or 3. Without spoiling -Character storylines continued, discoveries, arc. More Backstory. Great read!

Many of our people, unfamiliar with Van Gogh or Irving Stone, were absorbed by the tragic tale of this tormented artist, so vividly portrayed by this excellent writer. Book clubs are wonderful venues for rediscovering older literature, reminding those of us who collect books, that there really is a reason to reread that book on your highest shelf or buy it to add to your collection. Makes you also want to buy a collection of Van Gogh's artwork, as many famous pieces are referenced in the book, whetting your appetite to look at the real thing.

This record plays through, start to finish without ever having to pick up the needle to skip a track. Every song is great. And for Bowie fans, the bulk of the music was written by ‘The Thin White Duke’.

I've always loved the art of Van Gogh but only, after reading this book, do I have any understanding of the man and his art. I want to hop on the next aeroplane back to the Van Gogh Museum and look at his genius with fresh eyes.

I first read this wonderful biography when I was eighteen...I have loved Vincent and his entire body of work to this day.The print in this edition was difficult to read; and I would recommend a better copy for you, dear reader.Recently, I read an alternative account of the death of Vincent van Gogh which has long been assumed a suicide. I'm most ashamed that I did not retain the link...But, the premise was, and is, that Vincent was murdered by the jealous brother of a young student he had taken on as a student. The piece revealed significant facts unknown to me.These included the easel and paints left in the field by Vincent. And, his deathbed INSISTENCE that NO one was responsible for his death, only himself. This. of course, was in keeping with his nature . . . to blame no one for any of his many failures but his own self.I would be most interested in hearing your personal opinion of this theory. About the Author

Kathy Schwalbe, Ph.D., PMP, is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Business Administration at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, where she primarily taught courses in project management and problem solving for business. Dr. Schwalbe's first job out of college was as a project manager/officer in the Air Force. She worked for 10 years in industry (Air Force, Boeing, and Clark Oil) before entering academia in 1991. Dr. Schwalbe is an active member of PMI, having served as the Student Chapter Liaison for the Minnesota chapter, VP of Education for the Minnesota chapter, Editor of the ISSIG Review, Director of Communications for PMI's Information Systems Specific Interest Group, member of PMI's test-writing team, and writer for the community posts. She earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education at the University of Minnesota, her MBA at Northeastern University's High Technology MBA program, and her B.S. in mathematics at the University of Notre Dame. This book has no real place in reference to IT project management and should not be used as such.outdated material pushed on from previous editions with little coverage of agile development strategies.

This book gives a good overview of the project management process in general with a focus on Information Technology projects. Though structured like a textbook (and obviously intended as one) the general reader, or someone studying for the PMP exam, could also benefit from the information in this text. Regardless, the book probably functions best as a course text (mostly due to the college textbook price). Each chapter includes definitions, discussion questions, exercises, and suggested readings. And a running case study that simulates real-world use of the principles introduced in each chapter pervades the book's 12 chapters. These cases help bring the material to life and animate the sometimes inevitably dry subject matter of project management.The structure of the book follows the nine Project Management Knowledge Areas introduced in Chapter 1: Management of Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, and Procurement. Each knowledge area receives a detailed chapter of its own (which, in a few places, leads to repetition in the text). The emphasis here, understandably, remains on documentation of IT projects and meeting expectations of stakeholders or customers. Though each chapter briefly discusses the use of software tools for each Knowledge Area, and Appendix A introduces the basic functionality of Microsoft Project 2003.Techies thinking of making the leap to Project Management will likely benefit most from the Cost and Comunication chapters (though all chapters contain useful information). Programmers and Architects don't typically engage in financial analysis, but Project Managers absolutely must know these money-based terms, tools, and techniques to do their jobs. Not only that, communication often gets taken for granted in IT shops (i.e., the "we have e-mail, what more do we need?" perspective). The book tries to undo some of the bad communication habits that at times seem endemic to IT departments. Human Resources can also provide challenges for coders coming out of their caves, and the chapter on HR covers motivational theories and the basics of dealing with other people on a day-to-day basis (something else Project Managers definitely must excel at). By the end of the book, the message rings out: Project Managers do need some technical skills to succeed, but communication and people skills rise far above in importance for successful management of Information Technology Projects. The book does a good job of delivering that message as well as distinguishing Project Management as a unique skill for IT.IT workers may or may not agree with the author's somewhat opimistic outlook on outsourcing in chapter 12. More of the sunny side of outsourcing gets emphasized here. The subject remains controversial amongst many IT groups and companies, and the author doesn't seem to give a complete picture of the issue. But some readers may welcome the idea that outsourcing isn't a completely negative concept. Lastly, though the book's title page says "2006", the author doesn't talk about the recent growing trend of Project Management outsourcing for IT projects (some IT professionals may look upon Project Management as a shield against being outsourced; this may become less and less true if this trend grows; but it may not).The book also includes 2 CDs. One includes a trial version of Microsoft Project 2003, and the other contains "Project Management Simulation Software". So it's possible to put to practice (temporarily, at least) the principles learned in this book in software tools.Overall, the book presents a good overview of IT Project Management. Some of the more advanced topics, such as Six Sigma and Monte Carlo Analysis, receive cursory treatment due to their massive scope and terminology load. But the book gives good introductions to even complex Project Management principles and practices, and will likely inspire readers to prepare for the PMP exam or to examine futher this unique area of Information Technology Management.

Very dry, full of made up management terminology. Reminds me of the typical management college courses - pompous and all encompassing, at the same time not giving any real value.

This book was required for a college class. I would not have bought it if it was not required. Very dry reading and not really to the point.

Looks like a great book, among all options, I decided for this one as the best once it has many topics that I need for my studies. However, how can I read the book or tell if it fulfills my expectations if I haven't received the book? When I ordered the book at the beginning of the semester I was told it will take most of the common time to be shipped, but more than two months later and most of the semester gone and haven't received!

As mentioned received brand new, sealed with CDs. Loved this purchase. Highly recommend the seller.

I currently trade a very similar system to this and I have no doubt about it's profitability. I purchased this to see how another trader was doing it and I was not disappointed. This apparently simple system is all you need to make money in Forex.I would recommend this because it is simply written, concise and to the point. There are important pointers to show you the way to profit and everything is illustrated with chart examples. This is a total system along with entries, exits and money management. Basically a solid system which is tradeable immediately and for which you will improve with experience.

Ed wrote a lot about this method of trading on a public forum a number of years back. Was really glad to see him put it in an e-book format with all the up-dates and fine tuning. If you follow the system and methods Ed outlines here you have a great chance to be a profitable Forex trader. A plus that seems to go with this book is Eds forum for continuing to educate about this system. Unlike so many in the Forex market Ed Munroe is the real deal.. My experience is if you have problems or questions he gets back to you either via the forum or one on one. How great is that for a little 6/7 dollar e-book.

Very concise, well thought out approach to swing trading. I have been using a similar system to Ed's with success as well. I've always liked the Heiken Ashi candles and Ed's way of trading them using the stochastic momentum indicator and different time frames is really good stuff. If day trading is too quick for you, and long term trading isn't right for you, then swing trading might be the ticket for you and Ed's system is a good one.

Always nice to get some new ideas for indicator use. Its a short and clear read that inspires me to use the Heikin Ashi and contains some ideas about adding position in a trade without risking more. We'll see if it works on some daytrades.

I would hate to imagine and cost up all the books and courses I've attended on trading over the past 15 years. Actually if I did that I'd hate for my wife to see the numbers! I've looked around for a system that is simple, repeatable and provides me with confidence. Until this purchase I've not been able to agree on a system that met my requirements. I've now found the advanced trading system in this book is that for which I've been looking.I purchased this book about 6 months ago because I was interested in Heikin-Ashi (HA) candlesticks (refer educofin.com for complete description) which lend themselves to trend trading, both short and longer term. It is more oriented to Forex but I've used it for stocks in trends quite successfully. It's the old story of buy the dips, sell the peaks however this system succinctly provides a timely and often accurate set up and trigger. I am learning to use it on Forex which to be honest looks easier for HA and the oscillator than it does for stocks, plus the market is is in no way manipulated like the stock markets. Whilst no system in infallible this one seems very intuitive and therefore will create less stress when trading.I can't recommend this book any more than give it 5 stars and hope the author considers publishing more trading ideas!
